Bon Jovi is an American rock band that was formed in 1983 in Sayreville, New Jersey. The group has sold more than 100 million records worldwide, making them one of the world’s best-selling bands. The band consists of Jon Bon Jovi as the lead singer, David Bryan as the keyboardist, Tico Torres as the drummer, Phil X as the guitarist, and Hugh McDonald as the bassist. Bon Jovi has released 15 studio albums, five compilations and three live albums.
After a massively successful ’80s run, the band went on hiatus and returned in 1992 with the double-platinum album Keep the Faith. Following the success of this album, the band went back into the studio and recorded the 1995 release These Days. This album marked a major turning point for the band as it was their first attempt at reinvention with a pronounced social conscience.
This album was a massive hit in Europe but failed to make much of an impact on the US charts. The song “Lie To Me” is one of the album’s biggest hits as it captures the pain, confusion and heartache that many people go through in their lives.
