Bon jovi members are one of the most successful American rock bands in music history. They have been in the industry for over 25 years and have reached a great deal of success over that time. Their debut album was ‘Runaway’ in 1984 and they have since reached worldwide recognition. Their third album, ‘Slippery When Wet’, became an international success and the singles from that release, such as You Give Love a Bad Name and Livin’ on a Prayer, peaked at number 1 in many countries around the world. The band has continued to reach high levels of success with each of their subsequent albums and their other efforts subsequently.

John Francis Bongiovi Jr was born on March 2, 1962 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. He is the son of John Bongiovi Sr, a barber and Carol Sharkey, a florist. He attended St. Joseph High School and Sayreville War Memorial High School in New Jersey. He later enrolled at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he studied music.

He had been playing the New Jersey club circuit plugging away since he was 13 and by the age of 22, he had already recorded a few demo recordings. He got a job at the recording studio that was co-owned by his cousin Tony Bongiovi, The Power Station in New York and this helped him to get his demos noticed and eventually signed with Mercury/Polygram.

Drummer Hector Samuel Juan ‘Tico’ Torres was also a New Jersey club circuit veteran and had played with some of the bands that were signed to The Power Station, including guitarist David Bryan. He was the drummer for the band ‘Attack of the Clock’ before joining Bon Jovi in 1983. Bass player Hugh McDonald was also a former member of the Attack of the Clock before being unofficially added to the Bon Jovi line-up in 1994, replacing Alec John Such.

After a four year hiatus the band returned with 1992’s Keep the Faith which produced the hit single Bed of Roses and was followed in 1995 by Cross Road, another commercially successful album. The band also released These Days, a darker album that helped them broaden their artistic style.

The band took some scheduled time off in 2000 but reunited to release the album ‘Crush’ which was a huge success. The single It’s My Life was a massive hit and the album helped the band to gain a younger audience. The band’s other albums include Bounce (2002), Have A Nice Day (2004) and Lost Highway (2006).

Bon Jovi has also branched out into acting and made appearances in movies like Pay It Forward (2003) and U-571 (2007). Jon Bon Jovi has also done some television work, appearing in the series Ally McBeal in 2002. Bon Jovi continues to tour around the world and make appearances at various venues. The band has also recorded several live albums which have been hugely popular.
