Jon Bon Jovi is one of the most popular and successful rock stars of all time. Aside from his music career, he is also known for his charity work and for being the founding ambassador of Habitat for Humanity.

He has raised awareness for several causes including AIDS, cancer, homelessness and poverty. He has devoted his time and money to helping families in need and has even helped build homes for homeless people. He has also campaigned for Al Gore, John Kerry and Barack Obama in the presidential elections.

A member of the New Jersey rock group Bon Jovi, Jon Bon Jovi is a singer and songwriter who rose to fame during the 1980s. His band’s self-titled debut was released in 1984 and included many of Bon Jovi’s now-famous power ballads. The album went gold and became a huge success in the United States.

After releasing their first album, the group quickly gained a good reputation on the concert circuit and on the radio. They signed with Mercury Records and released their sophomore album, 7800deg Fahrenheit, in 1985.

The group’s third album, Slippery When Wet, was a critical and commercial success. The album featured the hit singles “Livin’ on a Prayer” and “Wanted Dead or Alive.”

With Slippery When Wet, the band made a transition from a hard rock sound to a more accessible pop metal style. The album sold in excess of 14 million copies and was certified double platinum.

When the band dissolved in 1989, Jon turned his attention to solo projects and acting. He starred in a number of films, most notably Moonlight and Valentino in 1995. He also released a series of solo albums, including Destination Anywhere in 1997.

He married his high school girlfriend Dorothea Hurley in 1989 and has four children with her. He and his wife have an exemplary family life, although they occasionally disagree.

Jon Bon Jovi has been a philanthropist since the early 1990s, when he started his own foundation to help families in need. He has also donated his name and funds to the Philadelphia Soul football team and has become an active advocate for Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit organization that promotes housing for low-income families.

His philanthropy has received recognition from the White House. In 2010, President Obama named Bon Jovi to the White House Council on Community Solutions, an advisory group that advises the president on issues affecting low-income families.

In addition to his philanthropic work, Bon Jovi has a strong commitment to his home state of New Jersey and is a major supporter of the city’s sports teams. He and his band members have built homes with local communities and have appeared on TV and in movies to promote the cause of bringing more affordable housing to the region.

He has toured with his band and has performed on various television shows, such as American Idol. He has also performed in concerts for celebrities such as Tom Cruise and Cher.
